Údarás na GaeltachtaÚdarás na Gaeltachta is the regional authority responsible for the economic, social and cultural development of the Gaeltacht; among other work it funds and fosters a wide range of enterprise development and job creation initiatives.
Science Foundation IrelandSFI funds research in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, which promotes and assists the development and competitiveness of industry, enterprise and employment in Ireland.
Microfinance IrelandMicrofinance Ireland provides small loans through the Government’s Microenterprise Loan Fund. The purpose of the fund is to help start ups and established businesses to start up a small business or expand an existing business. What is a microenterprise? It is simply a small business (including a self-employed person) with fewer than 10 employees and an annual turnover of less than €2m. Microfinance Ireland helps these businesses by providing unsecured business loans of €2,000 to €25,000 for commercially viable proposals. Sole Traders, Partnerships & Limited Companies are all eligible to apply.

Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland (SBCI)

The Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland (SBCI) is Ireland’s National Promotional Institution which has the strategic objective of delivering effective financial supports to Irish SMEs and, in time, other sectors where failures emerge in the Irish credit market, while driving competition and innovation. The initial business model of the SBCI is to serve as an on-lending financial institution. The SBCI’s products are available through its bank and non-bank on-lending partners, outlined here.
European Small Business PortalThis portal gathers together all of the information provided by the EU on and for SMEs, ranging from practical advice to policy issues.
Citizens InformationThis site provides information on various employment topics including starting a business .
Office of Government ProcurementThe OGP is centralising public sector procurement arrangements for common goods and services; it manages the eTenders website, which displays all Irish public sector procurement opportunities currently being advertised in the Official Journal of the European Union and other lower-value contracts.
Irish Point of Single Contact (Services Directive)The Irish Point of Single Contact provides general information on the procedures required for Irish or EU businesses which intend operating in Ireland.
